The University of Prishtina „Hasan Prishtina” was the first public institution in the Republic of Kosovo, and consists of 16 faculties, mainly located in Prishtina. UP, similar to other universities in the world, conveys unique responsibilities in professional training and research guidance, which are determinants for the development of industry and trade, infrastructure and society.
UP began the reformation process in 2001, by reforming all academic levels in accordance with the Bologna Declaration, aiming for integration into the European Higher Education System. The goal of the University is active participation in the International cooperation process, which enables the harmonisation of the study programmes at all  levels according to the Bologna process. The process has initiated the integration of Kosovar higher education within the European processes by ensuring the accompanying elements, including implementation of ECTS, quality assurance and transparency.
UP objective is to promote bilateral contacts with other universities based on cooperation agreements of general format signed, aiming at the exchange of academic personnel and students, organization of joint courses, study visits, conferences and seminars, participation in scientific conferences,  exchange of academic and professional experiences etc.
